When you buy a house, you hope the sellers disclose everything there is to know. And you usually inherit some random binder or folder filled with yellowing service records and random appliance booklets. It's a mess at best.
A clean seller could be willing to share the "HomeFax" ( a la CarFax) as a means to raise the selling price. Or, a buyer could request this and pay for it. Or, once purchased, the new homeowners finally get digital access to all prior home records and services. Perhaps service people could write to this database directly. Perhaps blockchain could keep it secure and verified. Perhaps home insurers would be interested in participating too, i.e. if your home is "clean" then you get lower insurance rates.
